Nocturnum

"Woke up in a room you recognise, but a life you can't remember."

Psychological Horror 2D Pixel RPG Narrative Puzzle

About Nocturnum

Nocturnum is a narrative-driven 2D pixel RPG that explores the eerie isolation of memory loss. You step into the shoes of Calais, waking up in a room that feels both familiar and foreign, with no recollection of who you are.

To uncover the truth, you must scour your own room for clues, solve escape-room style puzzles, and bypass the security questions to gain access to your computer, while gaining insight into the fragmented nature of your own mind.

Created as part of the Developing Game Concepts module for the Game Design and Production BA at Abertay University, Nocturnum was developed witin 3 weeks using GameMaker Studio.

It features custom pixel art, narrative-focused gameplay, and an emotional story inspired by genre staples like Omori and OneShot.
